This section feels like writing 2 mini General Paper essays all over again.
Expressing opinions, critiques, providing evidence and examples to support the claim, but this time it's I would say totally different because this essay do not require you to take a stand in which you provide tones of examples to support your choice.Reiterate it, compare it with the other side of the story and conclude your stand with a bang.
Rather it wants you to provide evidence and ideas to both sides of the question statement. And then provide circumstances in which the prompt given would be true for both your supporting and anti-supporting component. Factors would have to be incorporated to support your writing.
Boy, this is really getting a bit too much.
Well, at least this is how the structure should be like and it doesn't change. BUT you cannot choose your topic to write on, unlike A Level's, I remembered that we are given like 8 to 10 different statements to choose from and we can actually prepare a few topics before the exam. So if you are weak in a certain topic, well it's best to not try to write on it.
I still remember having books and essay journals that are put into topics and I would highlight the ideas and examples used so that I can re-use them. At the same time learn how to write a better essay to score. Some popular topics back then were mass media, science and technology, morality and ethics, law and justice and for some that interest them, politics.
It's time to generate a book of ideas and concrete examples to support my claims and stands.
1 month.
Possible? Hope so!
I was discussing this with the boy this afternoon, he thinks the best strategy to tackle this and actually all things is to remain calm and cool. Panic and stress is the key to unleashing a brain block day.
Well, he agreed to help me out with this portion, since it's going to be time consuming to try to generate ideas on the various topics on my own, he would help me list out ideas and examples. *yayness*
But I agree with him that it's actually better to do the research yourself as you tend to remember them better, but time is not on my side, if I have the whole year to do this, I would do it. But sadly I don't. Should have done it back last year. So much for procrastinating, now I'm panicking a little. Serves me right!
So if I prepare like 2 essays a day, from now till then, that would be about 60 essay practices. Hopefully it would be sufficient. I wouldn't mind annotating more ideas and generating more examples for practice actually. Well, as I was going through the book, initially I had a brain block, but with some help and pushing of ideas from the book, what ever general knowledge I have from reading the news to facebook to articles, these juicy ideas seem to flow out. I just got to warm up my engine and keep going till the 16th.
This post is probably one of my many boring ramblings of mugging and my boring lifestyle. But well I feel like it's a kind of writing practice session for me now.
Till then!
Have a awesome weekend everyone!
Mommy and Daddy are in town!
xoxo
