Korea - Snowboard Trip Part 1

Super long over due post of Korea.
This was the trip I soooooooooo looked forward to, it's my first time going to Korea, first time snowboarding with his friends, first time on such a super long holiday during winter too!
Many many firsts.

We wanted to stay at Yongpyong Ski Resort, it's the resort for the 2018 winter Olympics. As compared to Alpensia Ski Resort, Yongpyong is much much bigger and has more to offer to skiers and boarders, while Alpensia was more family oriented and I would say it's more for beginners.
But due to the difficulties we faced in booking an accommodation at Yongpyong, we settled to stay at Holiday Inn Resort, Alpensia.

So we flew off from Singapore to Incheon on boxing day, arrived really early in the morning and thankfully we arranged a bus transport to the resort. It's totally necessary if you have snowboards! Imagine having to drag your snowboards plus your luggage in the sluggish snow plus after getting off a red eye flight.
shag!
The journey to the resort took us about 3++hrs from the airport. There is a rest stop which we could pee and get a nice warm drink.

We stayed at Alpensia for 6 days 5 nights and snowboarded for 4 days.
Boy was it tiring, super massive good workout, love it though!

 The Ski House

When we first arrived, we went to check out the resort and the skiers and boarders. Couldn't wait to hit the slopes then!

Dinner at Korean BBQ Chicken. This Olive spicy chicken is the love....pity I couldn't appreciate it... was nursing a cold. :( How pathetic to fall sick during a holiday right! Plus it's not like a relax walk around kind of holiday, I had 4 days of boarding to do plus all the yummy korean meals. But yeah... I somehow survived and got cured by the 7-8th day (:
Day 2... I woke up with a pleasant surprised.... it snowed in the night and was still snowing! (: Means powder fresh snow! I like. (:

Excited me ventured off to the balcony in the freezing weather.
Korea's weather is reallyyyyyy cold! At least -10 every morning! Thank goodness the rooms are really heated really well..with nice ondol floor heaters (:

Holiday Inn Alpensia Resort at night.

 Night skiing anyone?
Probably not when the temperature is below -10. HEHE!
Although I so wanted to try night snowboarding. Thought it would be cool. But I was totally shag out by the end of the day.

Tee hee hee... goofing around while waiting for our pizzas. (:

And finally some pictures of the ski resorts.... I don't have many because I would probably smash my EP-3...
These are taken from the boyfriend's compact camera.

On top of rainbow paradise slope.
Very icy on the top... because it's super windy.. all the good snow have been blown off...
The sound of icy slopes scares me.... had to try my very very best not to fall.
Here goes nothing but the longest most awesome slope at Yongpyong Ski Resort.
The RAINBOW PARADISE slope.

 CHEESE!
Taking a break... feeling tired...

That's us on top of rainbow paradise after taking the Gondola up, on the very last day.
It's actually a tourist spot... tourist can take the Gondola up to the scenic spot...you will know why in a bit!

 Familiar?

Now you know why!
It's where Winter Sonata was being filmed at!

4 days of snowboarding flew by really quickly, enjoyed it totally and am hungry for more! But it's not the end of the trip yet....
there is still part 2, Seoul.

Till then!
take care my secret readers!

xoxo
